I dedicate this post to my foodie friends.
I cooked my breakfast today. I'd bought the ingredients last weekend (instead of studying Chemistry - I am admittedly a bad student) -
back bacon meat,
turkey breast meat and
cheddar cheese slices.
Below, you can see the turkey breast meat and two eggs that I beat in order to make a nice(uncooked) yellow omelette mix:

Next, I poured about a teaspoon of oil into the frying pan - pretty huge one, I'd say - and turned on the gas and fire. Below, you can see the cheese slice that was sliced further into half (purely for aesthetic purposes) and placed on top of the half-cooked omelette:

Next, I added the turkey breast meat, however making sure that the cheese had fully melted:
After five minutes, everything is cooked, and I folded the omelette into half. I then proceeded to cook the back bacon meat, and make some cornflakes cereal and breakfast tea; and - voila! - my breakfast is all ready:
Yum-yum. :)
I really want to cook beef Western style, but I've figured that I'll need an electric stove for best results. Till then, I can only stick to cooking what I can cook. :/

Amid a rather crowded, noisy and emotional post-promo atmosphere, in which friends, cliques and - what the heck - girlfriends and boyfriends gather to chat, socialize and discuss probably the livelier aspects of life, I have decided to adopt a minimalist approach towards celebrating the end of the promotion exams - rest, read and watch a few films.
I went home and made lunch - cheese and turkey omelette with back bacon streak, with banana fruit and tea beverage. It felt good eating something truly Western after a hectic, nerve-wracking and stressful promo revision during which I only drank a cup of tea for breakfast every morning.
Then, I started reading Forrest Gump, a book which I'd borrowed from the RI library earlier. It was a good book, and here are some funny and interesting quotes from it:
"Let me say this: bein a idiot is no box of chocolates."
(Chapter 1)
"I gone on back to the bathroom an took off the costume. Maybe Jenny is right, I'm thinkin - but a feller's got to make a livin. Anyhow, it aint near as bad as the guy I got to rassle tomorrow night in Muncie. He calls hissef 'The Turd', an dresses in a big ole body stockin that is painted to look like a piece of shit. Lord knows what he gonna smell like."
(Chapter 18)
"When I am finished talkin, a lady from the newspapers stand up an look at her notepad.
'We are currently on the brink of nuclear disaster,' she say, 'the economy is in ruins, our nation is reviled throughout the world, lawlessness prevails in our cities, people starve of hunger every day, religion is gone from our homes, greed and avarice is
[sic] rampant everywhere, our farmers are going broke, foreigners are invading our country and taking our jobs, our unions are corrupt, babies are dying in the ghettos, taxes are unfair, our schools are in chaos and famine, pestilence and war hang over us like a cloud - in view of all this, Mister Gump,' she axe, 'what, in your mind, is the most pressing issue of the moment?' The place was so quiet you coulda heard a pin drop.
'I got to pee,' I says."
(Chapter 25)
"But let me tell you this: sometimes at night, when I look up at the stars, an see the whole sky jus laid out there, don't you think I ain't rememberin it all. I still got dreams like anybody else, an ever so often, I am thinking about how things might of been. An then, all of a sudden, I'm forty, fifty, sixty years ole, you know?
Well, so what? I may be an idiot, but most of the time, anyway, I tried to do the right thing - an dreams is just dreams, ain't they? So whatever else has happened, I am figgerin this: I can always look back an say, at least I ain't led no hum-drum life.
You know what I mean?"
(Chapter 26)
Later, I also watched the eponymous film based on the novel. It was touching and inspirational, clearly worth the 2.5 hours of rotting away in front of the computer screen.
So that was how my post-promo day one went. Kind of fun for me, but I suppose you'd say that it's dead boring.
