Today was so epic.

I took SAT II at AJC in the morning and met a few friends, e.g., Bryan, Zeyu, Chops, etc.

In the afternoon, I played soccer with my brother and his friends, and I ended up injuring myself after attempting to do pull-ups. Apparently, this was what happened:

1. I observed the goalkeeper from the other team doing pull-ups - using the goal post.
2. I decided to give it a shot too.
3. I grabbed and tugged. *Bam* - the goal post fell onto me (specifically my knees)
4. I asked the guy how heavy he was and he told me that he was 61 kg.
5. Now I am painfully injured and resting my legs on a chair.

I conclude this post with a lesson: Never ever attempt to do pull-ups on a goal post again, especially if you weigh 70 kg.

2010 really is some movie mania year for me. I've watched a grand total of 14 movies so far.

1. 听说（中国台湾影片）
Genre: Romance
I watched this in an airplane. It's basically about a romance that develops between a girl who supposedly could not speak and a guy who tries to woo her. I found it meaningful watching how the love blossomed between them when they could only communicate non-verbally.

2. 宫内密探灵灵虎（香港影片）
Genre: Comedy
I also watched this in an airplane. It stars Louis Koo and Barbie Hsu, and is about a eunuch trying to take over the emperor's position and how he got stopped by the emperor's secret force. Of course, they do all sorts of silly stuff in the movie, which made it highly hilarious and amusing.

3. 叶问 - 二
Genre: Martial Arts/History
I watched this in my cousin's place. Donnie Yen plays Ip Man, a Wing Tsun practitioner who helped to spread the art of Wing Tsun to Hong Kong and trained Bruce Lee when he was young. The movie is about how Ip Man fought for China's glory when the British laughed at their martial arts. Gee whiz, I sound so serious; I shouldn't make this so formal, should I? Oh well.

4. 锦衣卫
Genre: Martial Arts/History
I watched this a few months ago. It's also a movie with Donnie Yen. This time, he plays the role of a skilled assassin who seeks revenge when the emperor's advisor betrays his team of assassins. I feel that the storyline was kind of interesting and well-developed.

5. Forbidden Kingdom / 功夫之王
Genre: Martial Arts/Action/Comedy(?)
This one's really retarded. It's about an average American guy trying to learn some Kungfu, who suddenly gets transported into some place in rural China, where he is told by a Kungfu master that he is a seeker that has to save the Monkey King from the Jade Warlord. Although it was a good laugh, I didn't quite like the way the movie portrayed Chinese culture, especially when the Jade Emperor and Monkey King both spoke in extremely fluent English. (-.-")

6. 十月围城
Genre: History/Martial Arts
This movie is about the Manchu government trying to prevent Dr. Sun Yat Sen from spreading his revolutionary democracy ideas to the leaders in Hong Kong. I learned a bit of Chinese history from the movie.

7. 七剑
Genre: Martial Arts
This movie is related to the eponymous book. They apparently cut short the movie from 4 hours to 2.5 hours, so some parts were difficult to comprehend. It was on the whole nice and meaningful (the philosophical bits), though.

8. Rush Hour 1
Genre: Comedy
This movie is simply epic. Google for the details.

9. Rush Hour 2
Genre: Comedy

10. Rush Hour 3
Genre: Comedy
Refer to 8.

11. The Exorcism of Emily Rose
Genre: Horror/Religion
This movie portrays the exorcism of a girl who was possessed by 6 different evil spirits. It sheds some light on Christianity and the idea of God. Not a bad movie, I'd say.

12. Taken
Genre: Action/Thriller
This movie is a no-joke. It's about an American girl who goes to France with her friend and gets kidnapped by unknown people. Her father, an ex-CIA trained agent, goes to France and saves her. The movie did show a bit of sex trading industry.

13. Night at the Museum 2
Genre: Comedy
I watched this yesterday. Really good and funny movie! Google for the details.

14. Ninja Assassin
Genre: Martial Arts/Action
Epic movie. Google for the details.

I think I'll be watching more soon. =/

There's only one week left.

The past three weeks have been very exciting, of which the first two were spent in camp sites (namely Bintan Agro resort and NUSHS campus). I did a lot of SRP this week, and it was really enjoyable reading the literature.

Oh, and I need to call the person soon. Is she waiting excitedly? Or is she growing impatient? Does she even care? Or has she buried everything beneath the sands? Is she still the person she used to be? Or is she someone different now? Sometimes, I really wish I could read minds.

Waltzing to Strauss's melodies. In my most beautiful dreams.

I'm recently obsessed with Strauss music. I find his music amazingly attractive - both melody and harmony. Never was I able to hear - let alone listening - to the inner music of Strauss, inasmuch as his melodies all seemed the same to me. Now, though, I hear something different; there's something in the music for me to listen to. And it's edifying and inspirational.

I feel like dedicating my next post to a person. Let's wait and see.

The paragraphs above are not entirely random. I was trying to - more like failing at - express some of my wilder imaginations. Indeed, these few days have been absolutely tiring, with so much work to do and a competition to prepare for.

This post is actually dedicated to someone whom I do really pity very much. Unfortunately, I am not going to disclose the identity of the person. However, not to disappoint you entirely, one of the three paragraphs is actually referring to my feelings toward her. Go figure if you're interested.

And Monday mornings will soon be busy due to my getting into the Mathematical Olympiad training enrichment programme. I wonder if I've also gotten into the Rennaissance Programme (the odds are extremely low, though). :/

Anyway, Chinese New Year was not exactly very exciting. I got kind of bored with visiting relatives, so I tried reading "Six Sacred Stones" by Matthew Reilly. Guess what? I didn't manage to finish reading it, thanks to the frequent conversations with relatives and all sorts of distractions. Disappointed, I decided to find another book to read - a shorter one. And I chanced upon this really awesome book:
